I have you now with me and that is all that matters.

The wait was unbearably long, the path peppered with adversities, rendering my feet in tatters.

Amidst a sea of stern glances and disappointed grunts, I crossed the silent room,

And I found that you were gone, the realization settling on me like a dark doom.

A pitiable cry was about to slip out of my parched mouth,

I had to tax myself to the extreme, not to go that risky route.

I was on the verge of losing myself to insanity and rot,

But then at the last minute, the kind office staff brought in a fresh pot.

I lunged forward with my I love NY cup and filled it tall,

Now I have you-- my liquid brown queen, and that what matters, that’s all.
